A new access road 850m long was constructed with associated drainage, headwalls, earthworks and boundary fencing. The new road was constructed adjacent to the railway track at Lattin, Co. Tipperary to facilitate the closure of two level crossings.

A new access road 1.1km long was constructed with associated drainage, headwalls, earthworks and boundary fencing. Works also included the erection of extensive cattle penning for landowners. The new road was constructed adjacent to the railway track at Drumkeen, Co. Limerick to facilitate the closure of four level crossings.
Carthy’s Access Road, Co. Limerick
A new access road 2km long was constructed with associated drainage, headwalls, earthworks and boundary fencing. The new road was constructed adjacent to the railway track at Ballysimon, Co. Limerick to facilitate the closure of one level crossing.
Access Road at Kilkenny’s Attymon, Co. Galway
Construction of a new permanent access road adjacent rail track at Attymon, Co. Galway and closure of railway crossings XG141 and XG142. Works included, boundary treatment, Concrete post and wire fencing, drainage, filling, safety barrier, Tarmacadam and surface dressing. Extensive site clearance through deep bog. The roadway was constructed on very poor ground using geotextiles and geogrid. The geogrid used here was Tensar SS30 and SS40 which worked well with the poor ground conditions. A number of concrete pipe culverts were installed with Stone filled gabion headwalls.
